Don Doty

Don Richard Doty 81 of Glasgow passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 20, 2014. A native of Charlotte, Tennessee, he was born on August 29, 1933 to Ethel and Calvin Doty, the youngest of their five children. He is survived by Jamie Stone Doty, his wife of 55 years, their children, Sissy Simmons (Mark), of Nashville; Don Richard Doty, Jr. (Cathy) of Glasgow; Amy Hawk (Rick), of San Antonio, Texas; and Sarah Rider (Michael) of Glasgow. He was the proud grandfather of Grayson, Guy, Kate and Alli Simmons; Dylan and Trey Doty; J.P., Sarah, Charlie and Aubrey Hawk; Eli, Wesley and Owen Travis and Maddie Rider. A graduate of Charlotte High School, Don served in the U.S. Army before attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, graduating in 1961. After graduating from Tennessee, Don worked for Ford Motor Company before joining Eaton Corporation in 1965 in Gallatin, Tennessee. In the years that followed, he was transferred to Rye, New York and corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Glasgow to help establish the Axle and Brake Division plant. Once in Glasgow, he served as Human Resources manager from 1971-1979, General Superintendent from 1979
