Donald J. Meador 67 of Cedar Springs, KY died Saturday September 20, 2008 at the NHC Health Care Facility in Glasgow after a prolonged illness. He was born in Meade County the son of the late Jesse and Dorothy Mae Tuttle Meador. Donald had many interests throughout his life that included but were not limited to; riding and training horses, dealing and collecting of antiques, amateur auctioneering and farming and ranching. He loved to dance and to make those around him laugh. He grew up in the carpentry profession and never quite got away from working with wood in some capacity, starting with the barns he built with his father in the area where he grew up, and the wagon beds he would build or refurbish toward the end of his life. He also had a career in the pip-fitting/welding profession and worked on several projects here and in Texas. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, June Borders Meador; his daughter Mandy Meador of Mineral Wells, Texas, three sisters Mildred Claycomb and Maxine Triplett of Bewleyville, KY and Ruth Zaring of Crystal River, Florida and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Doris Lile and Maudie Haan. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday September 23, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bethel Cemetery in Bewleyville, KY. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm Monday. Since Donald always wanted to do what he could to help those in need, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army or a similar local charity in his name.
