Dorene Powell

Dorene K. Powell 88 of Glasgow died Tuesday April 5, 2011 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County a daughter of the late Cilvenas and Rosettie Britt Kingrey. Her husband was the late Jewell Botts Powell. Mrs. Powell was a Dietary Supervisor for 22 years at T. J. Samson Community Hospital and she was a member of the Dover Baptist Church at Haywood. She is survived by 1 daughter Barbara Harper (Randy) of Edmonton; 2 sons David Powell (Jackie) and Doug Powell (Debbie) both of Glasgow; 5 grandchildren Lori Compton (Todd), Cheri Kosbiel (Thomas), Chris Powell (Jennifer), Tony Bragg (Tiffany) and Gary Powell (Liz); 7 step grandchildren Sam Lowe (Daphne), Michael Lowe (Marie), Andrew Lowe (Ashley), Amanda Harper, Randy Harper Jr. (Wendy), Kelly Logsdon and Kristie Logsdon; 13 great grandchildren; 1 brother George Kingrey (Gelee) of Indiana; a sister-in-law Katherine Bellamy (Tommy) of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Jackson and 3 brothers Stanley, Fred and Rondel Kingrey. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday April 9, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm Friday.
