Doris Gibson

Doris Jean Gibson, age 71 of Clarkson passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1944 in Hardin County the daughter of Roy Lee and Cliffy Ellen Riggs. She is survived by her husband, Maxwell Gibson of Clarkson, her children, Lewis Gene Gibson of Clarkson, Stevie Lynn Gibson (Roberta) of Leitchfield, Marilyn Kay Gibson of Horntown, and Maxine Carol Gibson of Big Clifty, two brothers, Dewey Riggs ( Patsy) of Clarkson and C.L. Riggs (Maxine) of Louisville, three sisters, Shirley Miller (Robert) of Louisville, Geraldine Barton of Clarkson and Elizabeth Choate of Upton, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Stanley Riggs, and seven sisters, Opal Riggs, Mary Knight, Yvonne Riggs, Louise Joyce, Ersie Mae Johnson, Irene Stanton and Pauline Shoffner. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel with Bro. Terry Priddy officiating. Burial will be in the Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
