Doris Jean Cowles

Doris Jean Cowles, 68, of Park City, Kentucky passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born March 18, 1953 in Burkesville, Kentucky to the late Tessie Thomas Arms and Vennie England Arms. Doris was a homemaker and a member of Merry Oaks United Methodist Church. She was the first in her family to graduate college and obtained a bachelor's degree in business management from Draughons Junior College. Mrs. Cowles loved gardening, canning, and she devoted her life to farming. Survivors include, her husband, Daniel Cowles; two children, Kevin Farley and Brandy Cowles, both of Park City, Kentucky; four brothers, Keith Arms (Sherry), Danny Arms (Shannon), Gary Arms, James Arms, all of Park City, Kentucky; one sister, Joyce Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Pat Arms; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Thomas Ray Arms, Williams Jr. Arms, William "Billy" Franklin Arms, Larry Arms, Evans Jr. Arms, George Edward Arms; one brother-in-law, Robert Scott; one sister-in-law, Sue Arms; and two nephews, James Evans Arms and Johnny Wayne Scott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. The funeral service for Mrs. Cowles will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 31st at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Merry Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
