Doris L Button

Doris “Dot” Button, age 95, of Glasgow, passed away, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on February 12, 1929, to the late William Henry Bowles and the late Mary Lavada Young Bowles. Dot had a quiet, beautiful personality, and could always brighten your day with her beautiful smile. She lived her life to the fullest, and was always kind, inspirational, and patient with all. Dot’s greatest joys were being a mother and grandmother “Ma”, to her precious grandsons, Clay and Luke. She loved her daughter-in-law as she was her daughter. Her favorite pass time was spending time with her friends with the bridge club.  Dot was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, John Button Jr. (Angela); two grandsons, Clay Button and Luke Button; two brothers, Jim Bowles (Lois) and William Earl Bowles; nephews, Jeff Bowles and Charlie Lowery; and special caregiver, Miranda Mosby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Elvin Button; sisters, Mary Emogene Fisher (Bill), Judy Lowery (Gary), and Juanita Bowles; and sisters-in-law, Geneva Caven (Edwin) and Vernell Bowles.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Wednesday starting at 8:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.
