Doris Louella Allen

Mrs. Doris Louella Allen, 93, of Glasgow, Ky was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Mrs. Allen was born September 18, 1928, in Metcalfe County, Ky, to Edward Perry Johnson and Laura Baird Johnson. She was united in marriage to Hue Reed Allen until his death in 1977. To that union thirteen children were born. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Reed Allen, and her siblings, Ralph Johnson, Sherman Johnson, and Virginia Beard. Mrs. Allen was a kind and generous woman to whomever she encountered. She was a loving and attentive mother to not only her children, but many children within the family and neighborhood. She worked as a home attendant for several families in Glasgow and was a loving caregiver to a few of their children as well. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles Allen, James Allen, Laura Jean Smith, Mary Emma Montgomery (Marlon), Billy Allen (Judy), Wanda Allen, Linwood Allen (Denise), America Ann Shirley-Allen, Jeffrey Allen, John Terry Allen, Ernest Scott Allen (Anna), and Teresa Allen. Also Left to Cherish her memory are 21 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be 1:00pm Monday, October 4th at the Hopewell Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00am until time for service at the Church.
