Doug Nelson

Richard Douglas Nelson, age 62 of Leitchfield passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 4, 1952 in Grayson County, Kentucky the son of Earl & Lorena Buckles Nelson. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Nelson of Leitchfield, one son, Tommy Nelson of Tampa, FL, one daughter, Sandra Jo Ward of Leitchfield, one sister, Evelyn Falk of Bonita Springs, FL, five grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Dwayne Nelson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Rev. Arland Benningfield officiating. Cremation was chosen in lieu of burial. Visitation will be held after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to help with the funeral expenses.
