Doyle Harrell

Doyle Spurrier Harrell, age 93 of Leitchfield, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Spring View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Leitchfield. He was born June 19, 1921 in Leitchfield, Kentucky, the son of the late John Walker and Minnie (Spurrier) Harrell. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Watson) Harrell. Mr. Harrell was a World War II Veteran, deacon at Leitchfield First Baptist Church, the Gideon's Society, and the Leitchfield Masonic Lodge #236 F&AM and served on the Soil Conservation Board. He is survived by two sons, Oneil Harrell (Sue) of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Walton Harrell (Marcia) of Oakland, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Matt Harrell (Tina) and John Harrell (Tracey) both of Oakland, Kentucky, and Brian Harrell (Gina) of Smith's Grove, Kentucky, six great grandchildren, Preston, David, Jackson, Gillian, Natalie and Carly, and one sister, Ruelma Shadburne of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Other than his parents, and his wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Litsey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2014 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Chester Shartzer and Bro. George Smith officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015 and on Friday, January 9, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
