Dr. Robert Fant

Dr. Robert David Fant 59 of Glasgow died Wednesday December 31, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Glasgow, KY the son of the late Robert Stanley Fant and Ethel Flowers Fant of Glasgow who survives. Dr. Fant was a graduate of Glasgow High School where he was president of his Sr. Class and the Beta Club. He later graduated from Harding University and the U of L Medical School. He was a family physician in Glasgow and the Fountain Run Community for 30 years and served as the medical director for Glenview Health Care and Metcalfe County Nursing Home. He also served on the Board of Directors for Community Health Care in Glasgow. Dr. Fant was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ. He served as song leader at the church and also lead singing for the church's services at NHC Health Care. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Jean Stafford Fant. He is survived by his two daughters Charli Fant and Jessie Fant both of Glasgow; his mother Ethel F. Fant of Glasgow; a brother Dennis Fant (Rita) of Searcy, Ark.; a sister Suzanne Fant of Glasgow; a foster sister Carolyn Bautista of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Saturday Jan. 3, 2009 at the South Green St. Church of Christ with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitaton will be on Friday from 4pm until 8pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Saturday at the Church from 10am until time for the service. Karen Small and Amelia Kiser with whom he worked and Dr. Melissa Walton-Shirley who were all especially helpful.
