Earl Turner Houchens 88 of Glasgow died Wednesday March 23, 2005 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County the son of the late Daniel Webster Houchens and Cordie Reed Houchens and husband to Lois Estes Houchens. Mr. Houchens was a retired heavy equipment operator for George Williams Construction Company and a member of Siloam Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Lois Estes Houchens; 2 sons Billy Houchens and wife Nancy of Glasgow, Joe Danny Houchens and wife Sylvia of Glasgow; 2 daughters Paulette Nuckols and husband Paul Lee of Glasgow and Barbara Jackson and husband Tommy of Glasgow. 2 step sons Bruce Estes and wife Bonnie of Glasgow and Russell Estes and wife Marla of Corydon, IN; 7 grandchildren Darla Beckham, Michelle Logsdon, Chad Nuckols, Corey Jackson, Patrick Nuckols, Jonathon Houchens and Mark Tyler Jackson; 5 step grandchildren Courtney & Brittney Estes, Anthony Byrd, Amy Brown and Angela Denbo; and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Emily Rush Houchens and 1 sister Frances Stewart. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday March 26, 2005 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Alternate Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a Memorial Contribution to the American Heart Association.
