Garnett Vance, Jr. 60 of Glasgow died Monday, January 16, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Glasgow the son of the late Earl Garnett Vance and Laura Evelyn Bishop Vance. Garnett was the owner and operator of The Vance Store, located in Glasgow, Bowling Green and Madisonville. He was a member of the dealer council for Briggs & Stratton and had been active in many other outdoor power equipment companies and the community of Glasgow and Barren County. Garnett was a member of Allen Lodge #24 F&AM and a member of the First Christian Church in Glasgow. He is survived by his wife Kathy; a son Dustain Vance and wife Stephanie of Bowling Green; 2 grandsons Kennedy Garnett Vance and Bishop Douglas Vance; Aunts and Uncles, Helen Lane, Ruth Compton, Marie (Jack) Jacobsen and Madeline (Ken) Elrod all of Bowling Green and several cousins. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Glasgow with entombment in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday beginning at 3:30pm and Thursday from 8:00am until 11:00am then continue at the church from 12:00pm until time for the service.
