Edward Mayfield

Edward Powell Mayfield 89 of Glasgow, died Friday November 3, 2006 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Adolphus Ellison Mayfield and Lucy Moss Mayfield. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Cletra Crabtree Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield was a retired Dairy farmer and was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter Saundra Harris and husband Ron of Glasgow; 2 stepchildren David Harris of Palmdale, CA and Stephanie Jarvis of Zion, IL; 2 sisters in law Ruth Shipley and Blanche Reneau of Glasgow; 4 step grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Howard Baker Mayfield, a sister Lillian Manning and 2 infant sisters. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday November 5, 2006 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4pm until 8pm and on Sunday from 8am until time for services.
