Eldon Byrd

Eldon Richard Byrd 86 of Glasgow died Wednesday September 21, 2011 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren Co. he is the son of the late Fred & Eula Chapman Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a retired Auto Body Repairman in the Glasgow area for 42years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Eugenia Byrd; a daughter Loretta Owens (John) of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Tyra Murray (Jason) of Glasgow and Derrin Whitehead of Bowling Green; 3 step grandchildren Brenda Owens of St. Ann, MO, Patricia Scherr (George) of Poplar Bluff, MO and Melissa Owens of St. Louis, MO; 2 great grandchildren Spencer York and Cameron Murray both of Glasgow; 7 step grandchildren; a sister Marie Morgan (Jewell) of Hiseville; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Derrick Whitehead, 2 sisters Delia Riddle and Emma Garner and 2 brothers Leon and Cleon Byrd. Funeral services will be 3:30pm Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
