Elizabeth "Betty" Lou Forrest

October 22, 1932 — August 4, 2022

Elizabeth "Betty" L. Forrest, 89, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, the last surviving child of Benjamin and Bertha Bryant. She was a beloved wife and mother, having been married 68 years and tirelessly raising seven children. She cared and brought multiple children through complicated health scares and sacrificed greatly for the wellbeing of her family. Her path as a wife and mother began soon after her late husband picked her up at her high school in his new blue convertible. From that point on, she and Lawrence blazed many life's trails from Glasgow, Kentucky to Los Angeles, California and finally settling in the Indianapolis area. All those that knew her, respected, and cherished her sharp wit and intellect. As an avid speed reader, it was nothing for her to complete a new novel (Stephen King or Danielle Steel, of course) by end of her morning. She was smart and fun and really was at her happiest when celebrating with friends and family. She was a tough opponent while playing and winning at Euchre, Boggle, or several other games of skill. Later in life, she may have slowed to a pace where she enjoyed such things as crocheting family members blankets of their favorite colors and would send precious birthday videos to those who she couldn't immediately visit with. No matter her age, her family still enjoyed being surprised by her resilience time and time again. A cherished trait of hers was that she never let her age dictate what she enjoyed in life and often her interests were more like someone half her age. Watching a favorite show like the Sopranos or Dexter and meeting her family at a local brewery for a drink and dinner to celebrate, was her ideal day. She will be missed by every soul that was lucky to have known her. Betty is survived by four sons, Lawrence Christopher Forrest, Colin Forrest, Joseph Forrest, Adam Forrest; two daughters, Marta McKrill and Tracey Kirkpatrick; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, five siblings, husband of 68 years, Lawrence Forrest, and son, Kelly Forrest. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM CST Saturday, August 13th at Summer Shade Cemetery. A. F. Crow & Son is honored to be entrusted in the care of Mrs. Forrest and her family.
