Elizabeth Gantz

Betty Jane Gantz 84 of Glasgow died Monday December 7, 2009 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. She was born in Alliance, OH the daughter of the late William J. and Effie Hubbins Montler. Mrs. Gantz was a homemaker and a former teacher's aid while living in Florida and had also been a cook at Liberty St. School in Glasgow. She was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Duane; three daughters Linda Payne (John) and Judy Downing (Joe Burton) all of Glasgow and Jane Toms (Philip) of Lexington; three sons Jerry Gantz (Carla) of Glasgow, Michael Gantz (Lee Ann) of Bowling Green and Tom Gantz of Ellenton, FL; 5 grandchildren David Downing, Danny Downing (Brandy) Ellen Downing, Carley Devore (Matt) and Jennie Samons (Nick); 5 great-grandchildren Virginia Downing, Rose Marie Downing, Luna Devore, Vega Devore and Elliot Samons and 4 step grandchildren Philip, Katherine and Courtney Toms and Alison Durling and a step great grandson Logan Toms. She is also survived by her special caregiver, Vickie Mosby. Mrs. Gantz was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Gantz had chosen cremation. There will be a visitation time with the family on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. The family will hold a private graveside service at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Community Medical Care or your favorite charity.
