Ella Hammer

Ella Hammer age 100 of Glasgow passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. She was born November 18, 1914 in Monroe County to the late Luther and Betty Geralds. She was married October 29, 1933 to the late Fred Hammer. Mrs. Hammer was a former employee of Kentucky Pants and was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ at Eighty Eight, KY. Survivors include 1 son Thomas Hammer (Eula) of Canton, OH; 2 daughters Nancy Garrett (Erbie) of Hodgenville and Betty Barbour of Glasgow; 1 sister Mary Taylor of Glasgow; 1 son-in-law Carlie Strode; 2 daughters-in-law Carolyn Hammer and Margaret Perkins; 15 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 5 children Herman, Clifford, Paul and Sondra Hammer and Linda Strode; a son-in-law Omar Barbour; 1 brother, 4 sisters, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday, February 15th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will begin at 4pm Saturday.
