Elmer Geary

Elmer Geary, 91, of Caneyville, passed away Saturday, May 21st, 2016 at the Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield. He was born on Monday, May 26th, 1924 in Yeaman, KY, the son of the late Henry and Mada (Berkley) Geary. Elmer retired from Leggett and Platt and was also a farmer.Elmer is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hazel (Payton) Geary; two sons, Elmer Dale Geary and Darrell Wayne Geary; three daughters, Terri Lynn Coleman, Mary Ellen Bratcher and Melinda Diane Parks all of Grayson County; six grandchildren, Lance Dale Geary, Amy (Bratcher) Cannon, Jayme (Coleman) May, Jeremy Trent Geary, Shayla Marie Parks and Colton Heath Parks and five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn May, Carson Geary, Case Cannon, Elaina Geary and Walker Geary. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, James Heath Geary; eight brothers, Wavey, Virgil, Carl, Myrle, Earl, Dexter, Kenneth and Edward and four sisters, Julie, Beulah, Eva and Lucille.Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 24th at 2:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro George Langdon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeaman Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Monday after 1:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of service.
