Elsie Elizabeth Polson 87 of Glasgow died Thursday, September 15. 2011 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late D. J. and Lida Smith Shipley. Her husband was the late Willard Polson. Mrs. Polson was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she had served as church secretary, Sunday school secretary and was the Asst. Secretary of the Louisville Methodist Conference. More recently she had been employed with the Barren County Court Clerk Office. Survivors include a son Jimmy Polson and wife Emily of Glasgow; a grandson Johnny Polson of Glasgow; a granddaughter Linda Rucker of Mt. Washington; 5 great-grandchildren Andrew, Matthew and Kate Polson and Will and Jay Rucker; and a sister Ruby Pearl Hunt and husband Cecil of Glasgow. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Alma (Paul) Duvall, a brother James (Idell) Shipley and a great-grandson Max Polson. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday September 19, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Sunday.
