Elvin C. Copass 82 of Glasgow died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. He was born in Gamaliel, KY the son of the late Clarence and Oatie Bledsoe Copass. Elvin was a tool and die maker, a former employee of Sorensen Mfg. and was retired from Potter and Brumfield in Franklin, KY. He also taught machine shop at Barren County Vocational School. After retirement he and his wife traveled the country extensively in their R.V. Mr. Copass served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War and he was a member and a Deacon at Southside Baptist Church in Glasgow. He is survived by his wife Mable Clemons Copass; son Anthony Copass and wife Sharon and their son Nicholas of Glasgow; daughter Belvia Copass of Glasgow; a brother Dr. C. Wyman Copass and wife Glenda of Bowling Green and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Huelen, Theo, Haskell, Kermit, Burkett and Duane Copass. Funeral services will be 1pm Friday, August 2, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5pm Thursday. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Assn.
