Emma Childress
February 19, 1930 — March 27, 2024
Emma Laura Childress, age 94, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at NHC Health Care. She was born February 19 ,1930, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Paul Herbert Powell and the late Fannie Mae (Williams). Emma was a member of Caney Fork Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include, two daughters, Linda Rodgers (Barry), Sherrilyn Mutter (Charles); one son, John Richard Childress (Connie); seven grandchildren, Craig Mutter (Brandi), Carrie Alexander (Tim), Jaime Riley (Nick), Laura Anne Rodgers Levens (Justin), Allison Rodgers, Alecia Bush, Jaime Bailey (Jamie); 11 Great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one sister, Jeanette Furlong.
In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Dick Childress; two sisters, Anna Lee, Eula Mae Bartley; two brothers, Thomas Powell, Wesley Powell.
The funeral services for Mrs. Childress will be held at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home 1:00 PM, Saturday March 30th with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4:00 pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
