Emma LaVern Jackson 83 of Glasgow died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Glasgow Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Monroe County a daughter of the late William H. and Vallie Birdwell Sewell. Mrs. Jackson was an employee of Mallory Capacitor for 13 years and was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Tompkinsville. She is survived by a son David Jackson of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Crystal James and Tony Jackson both of Glasgow; 6 great-grandchildren Clay Williams, Ashton Rock, Evan Rock, Lyla James, Ava Jackson and Aiden Jackson; a brother Lester Sewell of Glasgow and 2 sisters Lois Tooley and Dora Allen of Tompkinsville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Clura D. Jackson, a son Dwight Jackson and 2 brothers Lawrence and Paul Bowman Sewell. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Beautiful Home Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
