Ersie Mae Houchens

Ersie Mae Houchens, 95, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 24, 1925 in Lamb, Kentucky to the late Clyde Thomas and Flossie Wood Smith. Ersie worked for several years at Crown Laundry before retiring from Sorensen Manufacturing Company. Ersie was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include, one daughter, Wanda Avery (Gerald) of Glasgow, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Lisa Mosier (John), Jo Garmon (Jeff) both of Glasgow, Kentucky, Jennifer Houchens of Scottsville, Kentucky, Doug Houchens (Melissa) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Stan Houchens of Louisville, Kentucky, Wayne Wilson (Joy), Stacey Wilson (Samantha), Kay Deckard (Jonathan), all of Glasgow, Kentucky; 23 great and 22 great-great grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Stanley Harold Houchens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Stanley Woodrow Houchens; two daughters, Doris Ann Houchens and Linda Joyce Wilson; three grandkids, Marilyn Faye Anderson, Carolyn Kaye Anderson, Sarah Beth Houchens; and several brothers and sisters and a son in law, Bobby Wilson. The funeral service for Mrs. Houchens will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 14th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Antioch Cemetery.
