Ethel Compton

Ethel Mae Compton 89 of Glasgow died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. Born in Metcalfe County she was the daughter of the late Lucian & Mary Florence Stephens Sexton and wife of the late Otis Compton. Mrs. Compton was a member of the Bethel Independent Baptist Church. Mrs. Compton is survived by 5 daughters Wanda Holmes of Glasgow, Betty Compton of Hiseville, Linda Reece (Johnny) of Glasgow, Lois Brown of Hiseville and Joyce Carlson of Bowling Green; 5 sons James Compton (Elaine) of Glasgow, Donald Compton (Jeanie) of Glasgow, Cecil Compton (Janice) of Glasgow, David Compton (Colleen) of Tompkinsville, KY and Sam Compton (Kathy) of Glasgow; 2 sisters Shirley Russell and Rebie Husson both of Lafayette, TN; a brother Vechel Sexton of Lafayette, TN; 29 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by 2 sons Douglas and Gary Compton, 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Funeral services will be 4:00pm Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 5:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
