Eugene Marion

Dr. Eugene L. Marion 93 of Glasgow died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the NHC Health Care in Glasgow. He was born in Allen County the son of J.K. and Annie Marion. He attended a one room rural school in Allen County and graduated from Scottsville High School in 1934. He attended Western KY State College and taught in a one room school for three years, which were 7 month schools from July to February, then returned to college for the 2nd semester to continue his education in pre-medicine. He entered medical school in the fall of 1939 at the University of Louisville and graduated in 1943. He then served one year internship at Louisville General Hospital where he met a nurse, Janet Bingham from Iaeger, West Virginia. They were married in August of 1943 and were married for 67 years until her death earlier this month. He then served in the U.S. Army Medical Core from 1944 to 1946 with the 107 General Hospital in the European Theatre during W.W. II treating many of General Patton
