Eva Pogue

Eva Nelle Pogue, 79, a resident at Barren County Health Care Center, left for her home in Heaven on Sunday, March 11th 2012. A devoted Mother and Granny, she was retired from the Glasgow State Nursing Facility and worked many years for Ely Drugs. In her retirement, she began her own alterations business serving many over the years. Eva Nelle was saved at the age of 13 at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Fountain Run and was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church. She met and married Wilburn 'Oscar' Pogue on June 25th, 1949 and soon after began her role as helpmate when he was called to preach. She is survived by 3 children, Larry Pogue of Glasgow, Dickie (Christina) Pogue of San Diego, CA and Sharon Young (Jackie) of Edmonton; four granddaughters, Lesley Shive (Mark) of Summer Shade, Aimee Sexton (Matt), Amber Collins (Chase) both of Edmonton and Katherine Pogue of San Diego, CA; three great-grandsons, Kaleb and Will Brody Spillman and Brayden Shive; two sisters, Loraine Stevens of Brownsburg, IN and Verneal Jordan of Sun City, FL. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Joyce Williams of Ft. Run and Hope Williams of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Linnie Carter Williams; and her brothers Manuel 'Pete', Maxie, Ray Dean and Bobby Williams. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, March 15th, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Union #1 Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Wednesday at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. The family requests that alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Galilean Children's Home or Union Cemetery Fund.
