Evelyn South

Evelyn Virginia South 82 of Glasgow died Saturday July 3, 2010 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Robert Dewbrew and Rosie Barton Tinsley. Mrs. South had been an employee of the Wells-Grinstead Insurance Co. and the Pedigo-Lessenberry Insurance Company. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett L. South, two children Joe Anthony South and Shelley Lynn South, a brother Mitchell Dewbrew and a sister Viola Dewbrew. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Shelton of Cape Girardeau, MO; a son Marcus Ellis South and wife Gina of Summerville, SC; 8 grandchildren including Lincoln and Carter Bragg whom she raised; 6 great grandchildren; a brother Bill Tinsley and wife Helen Jean of Glasgow and a sister Helen Trent and husband Billy Ray of Horse Cave. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00am until time for the service.
