Florine Yates

Florine R. Yates (Waller), 86, of Hiseville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at TJ Samson Hospital. She was born in Hart County, Kentucky on December 27, 1935, as the third child to the late Fred H. Waller and Gennetter Dixon Waller. In her younger years, Florine enjoyed playing with her brothers over the hills of Hart County. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age joining the Woodsonville Baptist Church. Florine had a passion for crocheting and enjoyed making special gifts for her loved ones. After her retirement from the "The Village Shop," her time was spent caring for her late husband, William B. Yates, working crossword puzzles, watching Soap Operas, cooking shows, occasional phone calls, and enjoying her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Myra Banks, Jane Yates, both of Lexington, KY, William Dale Yates (Linda) of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Whitney Crutcher, Juderuan Banks, Justin Banks, Jon Yates (ShaDonna), Shanelle Banks, Jacob Yates; eight great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; one brother, Theodore Waller; sisters in law, Mrs. Naomi Mills, Mrs. Pearline Mason, Mrs. Veachel Mae Hendrickson, Mrs. Emmerline Hardin (Bernard), Mrs. Eva Yates; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Yates, son, Howard Yates; sister, Marjorie Fletcher; brothers, Robert Waller, Rev. Freeman Waller; and son in law, James Banks. The funeral service for Mrs. Yates will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 9th at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Yates Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F. Crow & Son is honored to be entrusted in the care of Mrs. Yates.
