Frances Smith 76 of Glasgow, passed away at 3:14pm, June 14, 2010 in Glasgow. The Barren County native was born on Sept. 24, 1933 to the late W. R. and Mary Alice Love Jackson. She grew up in Glasgow and was a graduate of Hiseville High School. She attended Western Kentucky University and later met and married her husband Ray John Smith on Dec. 21, 1957. They were married for 27 years until his death in 1985. Frances lived life to the fullest and loved entertaining all her family and freinds. She enjoyed cooking with her daughter Lisa and looked forward to spending time with her two precious grandsons, Caine and Cash. She treasured card games and dining out with her special friends. Frances goal in life was to make sure everyone had a good laugh and a good time. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray John Smith, Two brothers, Glenn and Courtney Jackson, and a sister Margie Jackson Barclay. Survivors include a daughter Lisa Smith Holman and husband Jeff of Bowling Green; two grandsons Caine Gossett and Cash Holman of Bowling Green; a great grandson Carter Owen York and his mother Stephanie of Bowling Green; two brothers Harry Jackson and wife Sondra of Hodgenville and Ralph Jackson and wife Gail of Cave City; two sisters-in-law Willa Taylor of Glasgow and Joyce Jackson of Bowling Green; a brother- in law Edwin Fay Smith of Glasgow; 7 nephews Woody Simmons, John Taylor, Mike Howell, Tim Howell, Ralph F. Jackson, Shelton Jackson and Mark Jackson; four Nieces Katrina Baker, Cindy Caswell, Michelle Skelton and Becky Smith Kingrey; seven great nephews John Taylor, Grant Taylor, Jason Howell, Andy Howell, Blair Baker, Nick Jackson and Will Jackson; five great nieces, Michelle Howell, Mary Howell, Brittany Baker, Ashley Taylor and Hannah Howell; her very special friends, and the lovely caregivers from NHC Healthcare. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society
