Franklin Cordell Shaw

Franklin Cordell Shaw, 77 years of age, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, peacefully in the presence of his family. He was born in Glasgow on November 13, 1943, to the late William Odell Shaw and Vada Etta (Cherry) Shaw and his stepmother, Ethel Kirby McDonald Shaw. He was a mechanic for Wallace DeVasher, Goodman Olds, NAPA, and Barren River State Park. He owned Shaw and Sons Machine Works and was a beef cattle farmer. He attended school in Louisville and Temple Hill and graduated from Barren County High School. He was a member of the Hiseville Christian Church where he served previously as church treasurer. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Dena Christine, Doris Irene, and Cherry Laverne. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janie Ruth (Smith) Shaw; two sons, Jeremy Dell Shaw (Julie), Micah Dee Shaw (Erica); two granddaughters, Holly Shea Edwards and Allison Presley Shaw; one grandson, Jake-Ryan William Shaw; a stepsister, Lila Ruth Page; one stepbrother, Dean McDonald; a special nephew, Charles Eugene "Gene" Fisher; a special niece-caregiver, Virginia "Ginger" Richardson; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 8th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and Friday morning until time for services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hiseville Christian Church Youth Group, in care of Micah Dee Shaw, 547 Groce Cemetery Rd, Glasgow, KY, 42141 or your favorite charity. A.F.
