Franklin Ramey

Franklin D. Ramey 68 of Glasgow, died Monday, January 26, 2009 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Harry and Susie Abner Ramey. Mr. Ramey is a retired U.S. Navy Veteran serving three tours of the Vietnam War, retired from SKF and more recently retired housekeeping supervisor with T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Mr. Ramey was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Barbara 'Bobbie' Syree Ramey, 1 son Willie Dee Ramey, 1 daughter Dana Groce both of Glasgow, 2 grandchildren Tyler and Meghan Meadors both of Glasgow, 7 brothers William Ramey, Russell Ramey, Jay Ramey 'Linda'and Steve Ramey 'Julie' all of Glasgow, Joe Ramey 'Dana' of MO, David Ramey 'Cookie'of OK, Truman Ramey 'Kathy' of TX; 4 sisters Minnie Walker of Glasgow, Betty Janes 'Jack' of Glasgow, Nelda Wilkinson of GA and Janet Wright of FL; 2 sisters-in-law Pat Taylor 'Dean' of Glasgow and Peggy Ramey 'George' of Glasgow, special friend Little Buddy Hayden Wimmer of Lexington, several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 sister Glenda Ramey. Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday, January 30, 2009 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3PM Thursday, January 28, 2009 at the funeral home.
