Gelene Virginia Key

Gelene Virginia Key 76 of Cave City died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lovie Holman Whitley. Mrs. Key was retired from Sorensen Mfg. and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Glasgow. She is survived by her husband Delton Key with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on January 8, 2015. Also surviving are her children, Teresa Rutledge (Joe) and Weldon Key (Rita) both of Glasgow; 9 grandchildren Melissa, Justin, Jason, Alicia, Brandon, Jennifer, Jessica, Harley and Dillon; several great grandchildren; 2 brothers Hoy Whitley of Albany and Rex Whitley (Judy) of Leitchfield and several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Tuesday. 'Mom loved her family so much. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives as a Christian wife and mother. Everyone who knew her always said she was such a sweet person and tried to help anyone she could.' A special thank you to Station 4 at NHC for your loving care of Mom for almost 3 years and to Dr. Thornbury for always being there for our family.
