Gene Harlan Poindexter

Gene Harlan Poindexter, 81, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his residence. He was born March 11, 1940 in Cumberland County, Kentucky to the late Jesse Poindexter and Sally Westmoreland Poindexter. Gene was a mechanic at Kinslow's and of the Baptist faith. He loved his furry friends, Buster and Redman, his family, any pie or cake, and watching Westerns. Survivors include, his four children, Tina Evans of Glasgow, Kentucky, Eugene Poindexter (Allison) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Kenneth Poindexter of Great Falls, Montana, Donna Rick (Scott) of Louisville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Mark Blackburn of Glasgow, Kentucky, Kent Blackburn of Louisville, Kentucky, Alexis "Nikki" Sherfey (Kyle), Casey Evans (fiance Shelby Wood), Jesse Poindexter, Lauren Poindexter (fianc Cristian Johnson), all of Glasgow, Kentucky, Clay Poindexter, Euna Sarah "Paige" Burgess, Trae Rick of Lousiville, Kentucky, Margaret Poindexter of Great Falls, Montana; three great-grandchildren, Draylan Sherfey, McKenzie Blackburn (fianc Tanon Largent), Marcus Blackburn; and one great-great-grandchild, Kenley Largent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Mayes Poindexter. The funeral service for Mr. Poindexter will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 3rd at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bristletown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F.
