Geneva "Penny" Haskins Crenshaw, 88, of Knob Lick, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She was born February 11, 1933 in Greensburg, Kentucky to the late John Allen Haskins and Paralee Patterson Haskins. Mrs. Crenshaw attended Mt. Moriah Elementary School of Greensburg, Kentucky and Durham High School of Campbellsville, Kentucky and graduated in 1951. Mrs. Crenshaw professed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She served as president of the Missionary Society for many years. She remained a faithful member until her death. On June 6, 1959, Geneva married Avious Crenshaw. They shared 62 years and 5 months together of love. She moved to Metcalfe County with her husband where she resided until her death. She loved dressing up and going to church with her husband. She was a faithful servant with Avious at Old Blue Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Crenshaw loved God. She loved everyone; she did not meet a stranger, always had a smile on her face, and of course, always had on her red lipstick and earrings. She loved to cook and loved to cook for everyone. She always welcomed you into her home and offered you a meal or two. She loved talking to her friends on the phone and laughing. Mrs. Crenshaw worked outside the home for many years before becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Crenshaw was Geneva, Momma, GiGi, Granny, Penny, Aunt Penny, and Aunt Geneva to most people. She loved her family and friends very much. She loved her two grandsons; they both knew GiGi/Granny would always have their best interest in mind. Mrs. Crenshaw leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted husband, Avious Crenshaw; daughters, Vanessa G. Green of Louisville, Veverly J. Crenshaw of Knob Lick; grandsons, Anthony Kimbrough, Jr. of Louisville, Marcus Anthony Kimbrough of Louisville; siblings, Lucille Taylor of Indianapolis, Indiana, William C. Haskins of Greensburg; twelve step grandchildren; a host of step great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Allie Louis Crenshaw, Lenwood Crenshaw, both of Louisville; sister-in-law, Patricia Crenshaw of Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester Haskins, David Haskins, Harlan Haskins; three sisters, Zela Edwards, Ruth Allen Graves, Catherine Mills; one son-in-law, Rev. James Perry Green; and one step grandson, Joseph Todd Green. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice Care and special people for donating a hospital bed.
