Geneva Smith

Geneva E. Jackson Smith, age 94 of Big Reedy, KY, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. She was born on January 14, 1917 in Caneyville, KY, the daughter of the late John Riley and Mary Ellen Layman Jackson. She was a retired Librarian and a member of the New Harvest Baptist Church here in Caneyville. She is survived by one son, Larry Smith and his wife Joann of Caneyville, one sister, Gertrude Huff of Leitchfield, grandchildren Leslie Cena (Robert) of Brownsville and Steven Smith (Heather) of Leitchfield and her great grandchildren Jacob and Emma Grace Cena and Eli and Hannah Smith.Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold and one sister Eva Higgs. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 pm January 9, 2012 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Steven Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 2:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Sunday January 8, 2012.
