Georgia Geary

Georgia W. Geary, 84, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at her residence. She was born on June 10, 1928 in Tilford, KY the daughter of the late George Washington and Lelia (Patterson) Smith. She retired from the local hospital after being the head of the dietary department for more than 25 years. She was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Millwood. She is survived by her two sons, Danny Geary (Diane) of Leitchfield and Mike Geary (Sherrie) of Caneyville; her brother Linden Smith of Butler County; four grandchildren, Kent Geary (Shonda), Chris Geary (Angie), Heather Geary, and Heidi Justice; and four great grandchildren, Grant & Kolby Geary, Alexis Bibb and Chandler Flynt. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Pirtle Geary; two sons, Pirtle Wayne and Mark Anthony Geary; one daughter, Sheree Darlene Geary; three brothers, Lawrence, Royce and Deward Smith; and three sisters, Nannabelle Dewitt, Aleen Bratcher and Virgie Steff. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Apostolic Church of Millwood. Bro George Langdon and Bro Jim Stanley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. at the First Apostolic Church Thursday after 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
