Gertrude Smith

Gertrude Odella Smith 91 of Glasgow died Saturday, August 06, 2016 at the home of her son in Glasgow. Born in Rockcastle County she was the daughter of the late Ted and Dona Hale Allen and the wife of the late William Freeman Smith. Mrs. Smith retired from Stewart Warner where she made airplane parts. Survivors include her son Calvin Smith and wife Vicki of Glasgow: 2 brothers Virgil Allen and wife Francis of Indiana and Gillus Allen of KY; 2 sisters Ruth Holcomb of Indiana and Thelma Bonds and husband Curtis of KY; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild also survives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Easie Allen, Laurie Owens and Anna Lee Mullins; 2 brothers Delbert Allen and Orba Allen. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
