Gilbert Fields

Gilbert B. Fields 83 of Glasgow died Thursday Jan. 26th at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Metcalfe County the son of the late Jessie Samuel and Lilly Fields. Mr. Fields was a retired employee of Hamilton Cosco and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Pauline Fields; daughters: Helen Norton of Bedford, IN, Virginia Baldwin of Hartsville, IN, Linda (David) Billa of Bradenton, FL, Belinda (Ernie) Miller of Glasgow, Hope (Charles) Atnip of Glasgow and Pam (Doug) Poynter of Glasgow; a brother Carlos Fields of Edmonton and 27 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sons Edward B. Fields, Arlon J. Fields, Paul H. Fields; 2 brothers Edwin and Herman Fields; 2 sisters Vera Mercer and Lida Schimmerhorn; a step sister Velma Sue Aldridge; a son in law Bill J. Horton and 3 grandsons James Aaron Fields, Jeremy Lee Slaven and Tony Thomas Billa. Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Monday Jan. 30th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and burial with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pm on Sunday.
