Gilbert Lee Martin 86 of Glasgow died Friday July 1, 2016 at the Diversicare Nursing Facility in Glasgow. He was born the son of the late John Burl Martin and Vassie Ruth Jackman Martin. Mr. Martin farmed and worked tool & die for Sorenson for over 15 years, then later was owner - operator of the Colonial House Restaurant for 28 years. He was an avid hunter, loved to golf and fish and was a member of the Dover Baptist Church in Haywood. Survivors include his wife Norma Russell Martin of Glasgow; son Faron Martin (April) of Bowling Green; 2 daughters Darlene Wells (David) and Sharon Hamilton both of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren Shawna Shartzer (Denver), Aundi Thomas (Josh), Kareena Mansfield(Ben), Wes Shelton (Nikki), Alan Wells, Jeff Wells(Bryn), Matt Wells and Danielle Wells all of Glasgow and Madeline Martin and Chase Martin of Bowling Green; 12 great grandchildren; brother Eugene Martin of Glasgow; 4 sisters Beatrice Glass, Mary Landrum and Maxine Hawkins (G.A.) all of Glasgow and Betty Sue Estes of Cave City; sisters-in-law June Martin, Pat Martin both of Glasgow and Wilma Sue Marlin (John) of Franklin; brother-in-law Joe Harlow of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 brothers Robert Jewell Martin and Leo Martin; 2 sisters Velma Bush and Lorane Harlow. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday July 4, 2016 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 11:00am Sunday July 3, 2016 at the Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Kentucky & Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower 6100 Dutchmans Lane STE 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284 or to the Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky, 522 State St. Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101
