Glenn Cox 87 of Glasgow died Thursday April 19, 2012 at his home. Born in Beaumont, KY, he was the son of the late Willie Miles Cox and Inez Sympson Cox. Glenn was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a retired farmer in the Red Cross community and he formerly worked at FMC in Bowling Green, Frazier Supply and also was a substitute mail carrier. He also enjoyed working seasonal jobs at the ASC in the summer and the tobacco warehouse during the winter. He was a current member of South Green St. Church of Christ and had served as Elder for the Beckton Church of Christ for many years. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Margaret Nunnally Cox; 2 daughters Joy Lynn Buckingham of Georgetown, KY and Debbie Lee Turner (Ronnie) of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Amy Buckingham Keeler (Dan) of Lexington, Brandy Buckingham Bridges (Dean) of Park City, Brandon Turner (Ashley) of Glasgow and Alicia Turner Powers (Joseph) of St. Louis, MO and 4 great-grandchildren, Morgan Keeler, Katy Bridges, Clay Bridges and Lily Turner; 3 brothers Arnold Cox (Audrey) of Glasgow, Billy Cox (Abby) of Indiana and Don Cox (Lou) of Glasgow and a sister Lucille Cox of Indiana. He is also survived by his long term caregivers Brenda and Tom Mesker and Patty Gosser. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son William Neal Cox, a brother Wendell Cox and 2 sisters Nelda Thomas and Frances Cooper. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 23, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Sunday. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to either the American Diabetes Assn. or the South Green St. Church of Christ.
