Grant Sturgeon

Grant Allen Sturgeon 65 of Glasgow died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his residence. Born in Louisville, KY he was the son of the late Cecil Olson Sturgeon and Sally Weihe Kessler of Cordon, IN who survives. Mr. Sturgeon attended the New Salem United Methodist Church and was retired from Eaton Brake & Axle Corporation. He was a past president of the Morning Rotary club, a former Board Member of the East Barren Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Chamber of Commerce, a Kentucky Colonel and was involved with Kiwanas Soccer League and a volunteer with the Eastern Elementary School Little League Basketball program. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Jenny Haynes Sturgeon of Glasgow; a daughter Michele Williams (Todd) of Glasgow; a son Kevin Grant Sturgeon (Donna) of Glasgow; 4 granchildren Spencer Grant Williams (Tabitha), Hunter Lee Williams, Justin Grant Sturgeon and Jakob Weihe Sturgeon; 3 brothers Ernest Keith (Barbara) of Floyd Knobs, IN, Richard Kessler of Corydon, IN & Cecil Olson Sturgeon of Oklahoma; 4 sisters Judy Jeffries (Dennis), Yvonne Sturgeon, Rhonda Riggs and Wendy Koehl all of Indiana; a special cousin Dennis Anderson (Sharon) of Louisville, KY; 5 children that was very special to him Matt Young, Alysia Young, Ben Williams, Samantha Williams and Matt Williams; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, December 30, 2009 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:30pm Monday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the New Salem United Methodist Church.
