Guinn Atwell Shives 78 of Glasgow died Saturday September 8, 2012 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Walter Shives and Anna McCluskey Shives. Mr. Shives was a retired factory worker from Sorenson of Glasgow and later was a city bus driver for the Glasgow Street Dept. He was a member of the Beaumont Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Joyce Bunch Shives of Glasgow; 2 daughters Dottie Beth Lawrence (Bernard) of Bowling Green & Cindy Harvey (Terry) of Glasgow; 1 step daughter Teresa Hall (Steve) of Wonder Lake, Il; 1 stepson Greg Cash (Jackie) of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Daniel Harvey of Louisville & Jason Matthews of Glasgow; 6 step grandchildren Chris Lawrence (Kelly) of Glasgow, Grant Lawrence of Glasgow, Parker & Paige Cash of Glasgow, Chastity Barnewolt (Charles) of South Elgin, IL. & Wesley Delk (Heather) of Elgin, IL.; 1 great grandchild Zoe Grace Matthews of Glasgow; 5 step great grandchildren Emma Lee & Ella Kate Lawrence of Glasgow, Riley Barnewolt of South Elgin, IL & Mason & Owen Delk of Elgin, IL; 1 sister Dolly Simpson of Louisville; 1 niece Tammy Gibson (Kerry); 3 great nephews Caleb, Kyle Gibson & David Simpson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 nephews Mike & Freddie Simpson. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the Beaumont Methodist Church in Beaumont, KY. with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Tuesday at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and from 11:00am Wednesday until time for services at the Beaumont Methodist Church.
