Hal B. Toms, 54 of Cave City died Thursday, May 9, 2013 while on a cruise. The Barren County native was the son of the late Leslie E. and Ruth Steenbergen Toms. He served two years as an enlisted soldier in the KY Army National Guard. He was then selected to attend Officer Candidate School. He continued his service as an officer in the 623rd Field Artillery. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant in 1994. He retired as the principal for the Barren County Area Technology Center after 28 years in education. One of his greatest interests was the collection and restoration of classic high performance cars. He will be remembered as a person that treated everyone fairly and one who followed through on what he said he would do. He is survived by his fianc
