Dale Smith, 84, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 surrounded by family at his residence. A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Dale and his wife, Mavis, moved to Glasgow in 1963 and started Dale Smith Supply. Over the years, Dale and Mavis started several businesses in Glasgow, including the Ashland Oil Distributorship, Madison-Smith Machine and Tool Company, and Zatt Properties, LLC. Dale's life was defined by his faith, love of the Lord, and service to others. He joined Glasgow Baptist Church in 1963. He ministered to others as a servant of Christ, as a Deacon, church bus driver, and especially working with youth and seniors. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mavis; Dawn Darnell, Mike Darnell, Cyndie Botts (Philip); grandchildren, Zack Darnell (Kelly), Tevis Smith (Hayley), Emma Darnell, Tana Smith, Asa Darnell, Traz Smith (Chelsea), Aiden and Lucy Bisco; great grandchildren, Anne Darnell and Balen Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and many good friends with fond memories of him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Smith and Clyde Morelock Smith; son, Shane Smith; brother, Anthony Smith; and sister, Frances Hundley. The funeral service for Dale will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 2nd at the Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
