Harry Leonard Spillman 91 of Glasgow died Thursday June 4, 2009 at his home. He was born in Allen County the son of the late Hayward and Golda Johnson Spillman. Recently on May 6, 2009, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Annie Leoma Spillman. Mr. Spillman was a U.S. Navy Sea Bee during WWII. He was a farmer and a member of the Pleasant Point Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 57 years. Survivors include 4 daughters, Martha Shirley (Larry), Dottye Proffitt (Tommy), Susan Elmore (Richard) and Kathy Wiley (David) all of Glasgow; 1 son David Spillman of Glasgow; 1 brother Hayward Spillman Jr. of Etoile; 2 sisters-in-law Violet Spillman of Glasgow and Ruby Ellis of Etoile; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Robert, Drewey, Willard and Ellsworth Spillman and 6 sisters, Flora Mae Chambers, Isabelle Bales, Pauline Vaughn, Anna Underhill, Violet Stephens and Marry Belle Spillman. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday June 6, 2009 at the Pleasant Point Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Friday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
