Hazel Gaynell Taylor, 82, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 at her residence. She was born on Friday, August 24th, 1934 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Marvin and Fannie (Beasley) Swift. Hazel was a member of the Greenwood United Baptist Church. She also owned and operated the Fashion Flair in Caneyville. She is survived by her husband of more than 63 years, Joe Taylor; two sons, Philip Taylor and Mike Taylor (Gayle) both of Caneyville; two daughters, Rita Cockrel (Chris) of Bowling Green and Anita Bratcher (Steve) of Caneyville; one sister, Marcella Cummings of Caneyville; eight grandchildren, Dana, Kevin (Emily), Heather, Natasha, Brent, Leslie, Anna and Sarah and six great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Buster and Raymond Swift; one sister, Thelma Lacefield; one daughter-in-law, Patty Taylor and one grandson, Bradley Dale Smith.Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 5th at 1:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Mickey Coats will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Tuesday after 2:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of service.
