Helen Marie Houchens

Helen Marie Houchens, 86 of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Helen was the daughter of Johnny P. and Mandy C. Lemons, who proceeded her in death. Jan. 15, 1954 Helen married William Burchfield Houchens. They were married for 51 years. William proceeded her in death in 2005. Helen has worked in many sewing factories during her life and she retired from KY Pants Factory in Glasgow. Her last public job was working at Sawyers' Landing on Barren River Lake. She was of the Baptist faith. Helen is survived by 4 children. Elizabeth Sawyers (John) of Scottsville. Bill Houchens (Dee Anna), Bonnie Young (Marty) and Tony Houchens (Belinda) all of Glasgow. Helen is survived by 9 grandchildren. Melissa Hurt, Gary Yokley, Jr., Brandon Houchens (Christy), Marquitta Lessenberry, Ashley Houchens, Brandi Alexander (Nicholas), Bart Houchens (Kelsey), Miranda Young and Brilee Edwards(Justin). She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and one sister, Jeannie Bratcher (Jerry) of Bowling Green. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was proceeded in death by her infant daughter, Debbie Diane Houchens. A great grandson, Ty Lessenberry; brothers and sisters; James McCluskey, Katherine Woods, Bobby Lemons, Cleo Lemons, Stanley Lemons, Frankie Lemons, Loraine Rigsby, Virgie McCormick and Patricia Miller. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday morning until time for the service. AF Crow is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs Houchens .
