Helen Purnell

Helen Ann Purnell, 62, of Albany, Kentucky passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at Barren County Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 19, 1959 to the late Steve Waszen and Florence Reed Waszen. Helen was previously a front desk clerk for Best Western and of the Christian faith. Her favorite hobby included working on sudoku and crossword puzzles. Survivors include, one son, Lewis Purnell; one sweet granddaughter, Ariel Purnell; four siblings, Dora Waszen, Stephanie Waszen, Ivan Waszen, Michael (Christine) Waszen, all of New Jersey; and two nephews, Michael Waszen, Jr. and Steven Waszen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Marvel Purnell. The family has chosen cremation and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. A.
