Henry Burks 'H. B.' Steen, Jr. of Glasgow died Saturday night October 1st at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Bowling Green after suffering a stroke in May. He was born in Glasgow the son of the late Henry Burks Steen, Sr. and Josephine Morris Steen. H.B. was a band director and music teacher for a number of years. He was a devoted Christian and member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed using his musical gifts to share his love for Christ with others. After his retirement, H.B. taught private music lessons, composed and recorded music, and lived every day to the fullest. His hobbies included tennis, swimming (especially in the ocean), and watching football. He is survived by one daughter, Glee Lenoir; one son, Henry Burks Steen, III (Buddy) and 6 grand children, Sarah Steen, Allison Steen, Craig Lenoir, Jennifer Lenoir, Jessica Lenoir, and Andrea Lenoir, and one sister, Janet Boles. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 5pm Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
