Hope Gibbs Young Williams, of Glasgow, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. Born July 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Meredith and Annie Morrow Gibbs. She attended Temple Baptist Church until her health failed. She was 95 years young and beautiful to the end.
Hope is survived by her daughters, Linda Young Wells (Tommy), Rita Young Gray, Donnie Williams Marion (Larry) and Connie Williams McGregor (Eddie); seven grandchildren, Dru Wells Dulaney (J.D.), Lauren Wells Cottrell (Tommy), Meridith Bowles Parker, Heather Marion Deckard (Kelly), Max Marion (Brittney), Tracy McGregor Riggs, Megan McGregor Zipf (Philipp), and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special longtime friend, Virginia Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Clifton Young and Maxie Williams; sister, Callie Page (Edward); brother, John Thomas Gibbs (Nell); son-in-law, Joe Gray; grandson, Joe B. Gray II, and grandson-in-law, Brad Riggs.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the kind and compassionate staff at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.
The daughters request, in lieu of sympathy flowers, donations be made in memory of their mother to the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home, 1020 Glenview Drive, Glasgow, KY 42141.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 17th, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial at Union Missionary Baptist. Church #1 at Fountain Run, KY. Visitation will be Sunday from 9:00 AM until time for services at the funeral home.
